After N number of agencies, and creative studios from across the country, Nagappattinam, a project under Tamil Nadu Tourism reached us with one definitive purpose, a brand identity led campaign that narrates what the city of Nagappattinam is, and the future that it is looking into.

Challenge

Trying out different visual identities through different agencies, the Nagappattinam campaign project lacked one strong element, a story connecting it all. Different logos tried communicating different visual ideas, but lacked a solid base. The client experienced severe challenges in taking the project forward without a strong solid brand foundation. 

The Field Visit & background research

Instead of rushing into a solution, tale8 approached the project in a detailed manner. Our team visited Nagappattinam, mapped out every minute element, sat on discussions with national level historians and the government authorities from Nagappattinam. We looked into the present, future, and most importantly, a thousand year old past before arriving at our check-points.
